Michelle Obama dolls model First Lady’s sweet duds

Jason Feinberg of Jail Break Toys has crafted a series of First Lady action figures, each decked out in a plastic representation of Obama’s famous outfits.
My personal favorite is the red-and-black Narciso Rodriguez ensemble, but Counterfeit Chic makes the very relevant point that Feinberg could have himself in a major copyright pickle here, depending on what the source is for his figures: sketches, fabrics, or press photos of the dresses in question. What do you think of the dolls?

A copyright infringement? For what? I believe design patents only apply if you’re using an image like a copy-written picture or piece of art do decorate something. If I was Rodriguez I’d be happy about this. How many of his designs have ended up on something other than a real woman? lol
